You’re not misremembering: GetWaitlist used to be free, and for new accounts it isn’t anymore. Its free tier is kept only by accounts created before June 12, 2025. Sign up today and you get a 7-day free trial of the Basic plan, then $15 a month.
If your account predates June 12, 2025, you still have the free plan. If you’re signing up now, you don’t. (Checked on getwaitlist.com, September 13, 2026.)
What GetWaitlist costs now
The line on GetWaitlist’s own pricing page, attached to every “Free” mention in its FAQ:
“Free tier available only for accounts created before June 12, 2025.”
The plans a new account chooses between, billed monthly:
- Basic — $15/mo. Unlimited waitlists and signups, referral leaderboards, data export, email blasts, API and webhooks.
- Advanced — $50/mo. Everything in Basic, plus removing GetWaitlist’s branding from the widget and Zapier.
- Pro — $250/mo. Custom email templates and sending from your own domain.
Annual billing is advertised as saving 33%. To be clear about what $15 buys: it is a capable plan — the price is the only thing that changed for new accounts, not the product.

What GetWaitlist does better
A comparison page that claims a clean sweep is an ad. So, plainly: GetWaitlist does several things Mendoop doesn’t do at all.
- Referrals. Every signup gets a referral link, bringing in friends moves them up the queue, and leaderboards show who’s winning. Mendoop has no referral system.
- Email. Automated emails to signups, and blasts to the whole list on any paid plan. Mendoop doesn’t send email.
- Integrations. An API, webhooks, Slack, and Zapier from the $50 plan.
- It lives on your site, referrals and all. The widget pastes into Webflow, Framer, Squarespace, WordPress and the rest, and brings its referral mechanics with it. Mendoop’s embed puts only its join form on your site.
If you need viral referral mechanics, GetWaitlist is the right choice and Mendoop is not.
What Mendoop does differently
It’s free to start
No credit card, no trial clock and no signup cap. You can find out whether anyone wants the thing before you’ve paid anyone anything.
You get the page, not just the form
GetWaitlist is a widget and an API — its own landing-page guide sends you to Framer, Typedream or Squarespace to build the page, then has you paste the widget in. That’s a fine setup if you already have a site. If you don’t, it’s a second tool to learn before you can share a link.
Mendoop hosts the page itself, at mendoop.com/w/your-idea: your pitch written in markdown, a cover image, a countdown to launch, and a choice of five layouts and ten colour themes. It’s a page you’d actually share, and it’s live the moment you save it.
You see whether it’s working
The dashboard puts page views next to signups, so you read the conversion rate rather than a count that only ever goes up. Export your subscribers to CSV any time.
Who should switch — and who shouldn’t
Mendoop is a good fit if you…
- are signing up fresh and don’t want to pay $15/mo before you know anyone’s interested
- don’t have a website yet, and want one link to post on X, Reddit or a newsletter
- will email your list from Mailchimp, Kit or similar when you launch anyway
- care how the page looks, because the page is the pitch
Stay with GetWaitlist if you…
- want referral links, queue positions or leaderboards — that’s its core, and we don’t have it
- need to email your signups from the same tool
- have an account from before June 12, 2025 — you’re still on the free plan, and there’s no reason to move
Moving an existing list
- Export from GetWaitlist. Its FAQ says you can export signups as a CSV from the dashboard.
- Create your Mendoop page. Sign in with Google, name it, add your pitch and a launch date.
- Swap the link wherever the old form was shared, and keep collecting.
One honest gap: Mendoop can’t import existing signups yet. Keep the CSV you exported — it’s your list — and combine it with a Mendoop export when you launch.
